Simi’s “Little” Saint
Sophie’s Garden is a sanctuary for children of all ages
to talk to our Mother Mary and to pray to God.
Sophie lived in Simi Valley where she attended
St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with her family,
until she lost her valiant fight with leukemia at age five,
before reaching school age.
She offered all her suffering every night to Jesus
and prayed for the sick children of the world.
This prayer garden is dedicated to Sophie
for the example she set for all of God’s children.

February 26, 2013, Sophie's Garden was unveiled at St. Rose of Lima School and dedicated to the students. Father Budi, center, said the Hail Mary in English, Indonesian, and Spanish, and Chris Zawitkowski led the prayer in Polish. The statue is surrounded by Maria, Michal, and JP Konopka, and Tom Lafferty, holding Sophie's book. They were accompanied by the many Friends of Sophie.
